Safeguarding Rajasthan’s Wildlife: Introducing Three New Reserves
Description: On Earth Day 2023, Rajasthan's Forest Department announced the creation of three new wildlife conservation reserves in Sorsan (Baran), Khichan (Jodhpur), and Hamirgarh (Bhilwara). These reserves aim to protect critically endangered species like the Great Indian Bustard and blackbucks, as well as provide a sanctuary for migratory Demoiselle cranes. This initiative raises Rajasthan's conservation reserves to 26, enhancing wildlife protection efforts in the state.
