Yellowface: A Thought-provoking Satire On Racism, Scandal, And Truth. @ Hilly Reviews
R.F. Kuang's "Yellowface" is a best-seller and the 2023 Goodreads Best Fiction winner. I regularly read books on Goodreads, so I was inspired to check out this lovely and thought-provoking novel by the later title. The narrative is presented via June Hayward's perspective. She is a budding writer who becomes caught up in a web of ambition, plagiarism, and jealousy. The plot quickly combines the intricate themes of racism, white privilege in publishing, online scandals, and social media witch-hunting. It eventually turns into a satire about the publishing business.
